On the Formation and Dynamics of Mass-outflux from Matter Accreting onto Compact Objects

چکیده
Active galaxies and quasers are believed to harbour Black Holes at their centers and at the same time produce cosmic radio jets through which immense amount of matter and energy are ejected out of the core of the galaxy. In our work we compute the mass outflow rates from advective accretion disks around black holes, which, in principal could explain the origin of jet formation in self-consistent manner. These computations are done using combinations of exact transonic inflow and outflow solutions which may or may not form shock waves. The approach of our calculation is somewhat different from that used in the literature so far. Our work for the first time connects the accretion type and wind type topologies self consistently. Our result, in general, matches with numerical simulation works and successfully points out to non-steady behavior which may evacuate the disk producing quiescene states.

A Simultaneous Solution Scheme for Coupled Transonic Accretion-wind Systems
Though widely observed to be emanating from a variety of astrophysical sources, the underlying physical mechanism behind the formation of galactic and extragalactic jets is still enshrouded in a veil of mystery. In addition, it has not been possible to calculate accurately the amount of barionic matter expelled in these events. Though progress in modelling the exact mechanism of jet formation h...
متن کاملLaunching of Poynting Jets from Accretion Disks
The jets observed to emanate from many compact accreting objects may arise from the twisting of the magnetic field threading a differentially rotating accretion disk which acts to magnetically extract angular momentum and energy from the disk. Two main regimes have been discussed, hydromagnetic outflows, which have a significant mass flux and have energy and angular momentum carried by both mat...
متن کاملGravitational Waves from Compact Objects Accreting onto Active Galactic Nuclei
We consider a model in which massive stars form in a self-gravitating accretion disk around an active galactic nucleus. These stars may evolve and collapse to form compact objects on a time scale shorter than the accretion time, thus producing an important family of sources for LISA. Assuming the compact object formation/inspiral rate is proportional to the steady-state gas accretion rate, we u...

Considering the magneto-hydrodynamic equations in a non-relativistic multi uid framework, we study the behavior of small amplitude perturbations in cold quark matter. Magneto-hydrodynamic equations, along with a suitable equation of state for the cold quark matter, are expanded using the reductive perturbation method. It is shown that in small amplitude approximation, such a medium should be co...
متن کاملMapping the QCD Phase Transition with Accreting Compact Stars
We discuss an idea for how accreting millisecond pulsars could contribute to the understanding of the QCD phase transition in the high-density nuclear matter equation of state (EoS). It is based on two ingredients, the first one being a “phase diagram” of rapidly rotating compact star configurations in the plane of spin frequency and mass, determined with state-of-the-art hybrid equations of st...
